1.147 e-cigarette companies have been registered with the Malaysian Ministry of Health
The Malaysian Ministry of Health announced on November 4 that a total of 190 companies producing smoking products and e-cigarettes / vapes have registered their products with the Ministry of Health (MOH), including 147 e-cigarette companies. Over the past three years, the Malaysian government has collected 183.1 million ringgit, or 300 million yuan, from e-cigarette products, including nicotine and non-nicotine products.

4.British American Tobacco Malaysia’s third-quarter profit rises 14% year-on-year
Recently, British American Tobacco Malaysia released its third quarter 2024 results, the company’s overall product sales increased by 3.3% year-on-year; Revenue grew 0.5% to $130 million; Net income rose 14 per cent to $15.5 million from a year earlier. The growth was mainly due to the optimization of the product portfolio and the increase in sales of e-cigarette products.
5.Philippine Department of Finance: Smuggling of Tobacco, Electronic Cigarettes Costs 52 billion Pesos a Year
The Philippine Department of Finance (DOF) Secretary Ralph Recto said on November 7 that the country lost 52 billion pesos (about 6.4 billion yuan) in tax revenue each year from tobacco and e-cigarettes smuggling. 6.US FDA Extends Marketing Authorization for 8 Common Snuff Products

7.Nielsen data shows that e-cigarette sales in the United States fell in the first half of this year
According to the latest data from Nielsen, the US e-cigarette industry saw a significant decline in revenue in the first half of this year, with e-cigarette sales down 8.3% year-on-year. Among them, Renault’s Vuse e-cigarette market share fell from 41.1% to 40.8%, the market share of Juul, ranked second in the United States, fell from 24% to 23.7%, the acquisition of NJoy by Altria Group also failed to make progress.
8.Vietnam’s Ministry of Health cracks down on e-cigarettes and heated cigarettes
Vietnam’s Ministry of Health has proposed a nationwide ban on the import, sale, distribution and marketing of e-cigarettes and heated cigarettes. Vice Minister of Health Chen Wenshun stressed that all forms of tobacco, including new-generation products, pose a threat to public health. In the first half of 2024 alone, the Department of Crime Prevention of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam seized 35 related cases.
