British American Tobacco’s VusePro has submitted a PMTA to the US FDA, with built-in age verification scheme

RJ Reynolds Vapor Co., a subsidiary of British American Tobacco, has filed a final pre-market tobacco product application with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for its VusePro age limiting device.
The vape can be connected to a mobile app that verifies the consumer’s age through a third-party provider.vape can only be unlocked for use after age verification. Tim Nestor, executive vice president of scientific research and development at Renault, said in a statement: “”Our PMTA submission to the FDA underscores our commitment to providing options for adult tobacco and vape consumers and to preventing exposure among young people.” We don’t want our products to fall into the hands of teenagers.
